Mary M. Viator, Director
Mary was raised in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. She attended Newcomb College of Tulane University, graduated with her BA in 1974 from Stephens College, and received her Juris Doctorate in 1977 from Nova University. She was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1978, the District of Columbia Bar in 1980, and the U.S. Supreme Court Bar in 2008. Mary has resided in Palm Beach since graduating from Law School and has been a Partner in Caldwell Pacetti Edwards Schoech & Viator LLP since 1989. She specializes in Governmental Law, Special Districts, Probate and Real Estate Law.
Mary is an active member of St. Edwards Catholic Church in Palm Beach, Florida. She has been involved with the Florida Chapter of the Patrons of the Arts in the Vatican Museums since 1990 and has served as President of the Florida Chapter since 2012. Mary enjoys coordinating Chapter Meetings and interacting with all of the Patrons in the various Chapters. Mary works closely with the Leaders of the Florida Chapter, as well as the individual members to fund restoration projects for the Vatican Museums of Art.

Safeguarding the financial future of the Friends of the Vatican is essential to carrying out its mission long-term, and gifting to the Foundation’s Endowment is the best and most impactful way to safeguard that future. Each year, the Board of Directors takes a percentage of the investment income from the Endowment to make grants towards its mission of ensuring the preservation of Vatican City.
Gifts to the Endowment are perpetual, as the Board of Directors never draws from the corpus of the gift, but rather only uses a portion of the investment income generated to make grants while continuing to compound the fund. This ensures long-term financial stability and growth for the Friends of the Vatican.
